Carosue Dam

Carosue Dam is a Gold mine situated 120 North East of Kalgoorlie. The mine was purchased by Saracen Minerals in 2006.
Carosue Dam consists of a underground operation, Gold processing facility and village. The processing plant was recommissioned in 2010 and currently operates at 2.4 mtpa.
Two new villages have been constructed to house the increased workforce allowing roughly 450 people to reside within the premises.

Camp
i have been working here for 3 years now in the processing department since start up. the palnt is very user friendly, simplistic in design and functions really well. the mill its self is pretty good but the the trommel is off poor design and requires alot of man hours to get the tonnes through the prick. apart from that the rest of the plant is really good.
the facilities at camp are pretty basic but comfortable, the gym is pretty good but fairly small considering the size of the camp so it can be pretty crowed and congested. free wi fi through out the camp, connection speed can be pretty slow at times depending on what time of day it is. can only purchase mid strength and light beers and alcholol, all alcholol has to be opened when purchased and you can only get 3 at a time. all rooms have phone and foxtel limited channels, free calls to western australian land lines. recently had a change in catering companys quality of the food is pretty average.
the rosters on site are 8-6 for processing and minning does a 15-13 roster, all contrating companys vary and most office jockys do a 8-6 aswell. benifets of the 15-13 roster is saracen allow salary sacarfice for FIFO so if you live inter state or over seas its a great way to get out of some tax and put a bit more into your pocket. i live in thailand between rosters so it works out great for me over 12 months my flights work out on average costing me $500.
