Jack Hills is located in the Mid west region of Western Australia.
The mine produces approximately 2 million tonnes of iron ore annually. Ore is transported to Geraldton via rail where it is exported to Asian markets.
Currently the mine is in care and maintenance until further notice.

was a pretty boring site to work at whilst i was there- they had ramped down so we wernt blasting much- the people were good- at the moment i belive the site is in care and maintanace but will ramp back up down the track
No mobile reception, pokey little mess, Saturday nights was a BBQ with the flies, sat phone/internet was abysmal and a low priority with the client, despite repeated assurances it was being worked on it got no better in the 18-24 months I was there. Pokey little gym, flights were from the station strip, which wasn't sealed, low cloud and wet weather always made for a bad fly out day. Network aviation made flying exciting, never knew if you were going to turn around half way to site, swap planes on the tarmac, not leave at all... Generally pretty good people and a pretty social atmosphere.
Site is in care and maintenance as the other reviewer mentioned. Wouldn't go back there on a 2/1 roster with no mobile coverage.
Did not like the place at all. No mobile reception. Poor accommodation. would not work there again.
