I cant comment on a lot of the categories to rate because I travelled in and out from Southern Cross the whole time I worked at Marvel Loch.
I worked there from 2003-2007 completed my electrical apprenticeship.
Marvel Loch is not too bad to work at but when I was there the pay was pretty average. There is a main cone crusher, a secondary crusher and two tertiary crushers in the crushing circuit with one double deck screen. The product is all crushed down to about 16mm I think and stores in fine ore bins. The ore is then fed into 3 ball mills 3.3kV, there are 4 leaching tanks and 8 adsorption tanks which they add all sorts of awesome chemicals in.
The plant ran Allen Bradley PLCs with RS Logix 5000 with Citect for operators. There is a lot of instrumentation to work on, and a regeneration kiln that was always breaking down.
The safety when I was there wasnt too bad.
The plant was fairly run down because they were using recycled water from the process plant, full of acids and the likes. A lot has changed since then they were doing campaign milling and crushing week on and week off so I think a lot of the plant was repaired in this time.
The site cant have a whole lot of operating time left, when I left 5 years ago there was only 2 years left, so they are going quite well.
Marvel Loch was a good place to do my apprenticeship at.

pretty much the worest site i've ever been to. shit camp, shit rooms, bad food. processing plant looks like it is about the fall over. only ever did one shutdown here and that was enough.
not worth it

Worked in the gold mill recently the place is very old and had a minor refurb last year. The guys on site had been there a long time and were pretty much part of the furniture. One of the last old school gold mines of the goldfields I would say. Pretty cruisy place but always breaking down.
Rooms didnt have tv's in them but they were on order. Basically everyone is just making best of a run down old place. Camp was pretty old no spilt systems just rattly old a/c box styles. Company owns the local pub, 6 bucks a beer of whatever you want. they do a mean pizza as well.
Marvel loch is a very old site that has a large range of technology in their mill. I didnt really like management their as they didnt really have a clue what was going on or really care. It seemed that most people were just waiting for the place to shut down.
