Rio Tinto Salts

site overview
Rio salts is located just out of the town of Port Hedland. The operation was purchased in 2001 and features several large ponds that allow salt water to evaporate along with processing facilities that enable the stacking and sorting of the salt.
The final product is highly scrutinized and must be of high quality before it is allowed to be loaded into the port for shipment.

most disorganized minesite I've worked on, does not stand by their motto "safety is our priority work is our value" it's more like not "what you but who you blow"e locals say it's a stepping stone for people who wants to get into either FMG or BHP because no one last more than 2 years unless you are in upper management position, no support for the locals in hedland trying to make it a fifo site, all fifo workers at accommodated in either shared housing or at the wedgefield camp which is one of the oldest camps in town would not recommend working there.
