The Telfer gold-copper mines are located in the East Pilbara region of Western Australia. Telfer is a fly-in-fly-out operation, 400 kilometres east-south-east of Port Hedland and approximately 1,300 kilometres by air and 1,900 kilometres by road north-east of the state’s capital, Perth.
In 2002, Newcrest Mining announced a new redevelopment project worth $1 billion, after discovering new mineral areas and a reserve base of some 19 million troy ounces of gold and 640,000 tonnes of copper.The mine reopened in November 2004, after commissioning of the processing plant and, initially as an open cut mine, from March 2006 also with an underground operation.

Overall wasn't a bad place but wasn't a good place to work at safety is on point gym was small buy well equipped the food for lunch and crib was awful rooms were dog boxes without windows if you were contracting too bad but maintenance of rooms need to step it up abit, definitely need to do something about the dingo problem out there but overall would ever want to work there permanently.
