Yarrabee is a coal mine approx 40kms north/north east of Blackwater in Central Queensland. It is a Chinese owned mine, one of many the Yancoal Group has in Australia. The company is great to work for in most respects. The people are fantastic, the wages are at the lower end compared to the BMA's, Rio's and Anglo's but money isn't everything. It is only a two hour drive to the coast from Blackwater or less than an hours drive west to the township of Emerald. The workforce is a stable one with minimal turnover making it more difficult to gain employment here. All in all it's a good mine to work at, and being an owner/operator mine, it is far better than working for a mining contract company.
